MATLAB/Simulink Workshop

Description

I occasionally offer a 4-hour MATLAB/Simulink workshop for our students. It is completely optional, and not used to satisfy any unit requirements. This workshop is specifically tailored for students preparing for, enrolled in, or about to take ME340 (Modeling and simulation of dynamic systems). The workshop covers: dynamic systems and how to model them, how to build an equivalent block diagram in Simulink, and how to simulate / animate the system under various initial conditions and forcing functions. The workshop culminates with a double pendulum example, which illustrates the concept of chaotic behavior.
